New MacBook Air coming soon?
Apple has talked about the all new Macbook Air, that has been rumored to be coming very soon, possibly as soon as the 29th April.
The new Macbook Air has been rumored to ship with the new Haswell chips from Intel. These chips are much more power efficient than previous generations and will result in longer battery life for the new MacBook air, although they do not provide much of a performance increase than the previous generations. We would also expect there to be minor weight improvements, however we would not expect any alterations in the chassis or design of the laptop.
On the 29th April Apple has been rumored to be releasing the 11-inch and 13-inch model of this MacBook Air. The codename for these are J41A and J43A.
You will be able to identify the new Macbook Air from its model number / product code. Depending on specs, the new 11 inch Macbook Air will be product code MD711xx/B or MD712xx/B and the 13 inch will be MD760xx/B or MD761xx/B. Apple are likely to refer to them as early 2014 models compared to previous years when they were released later in the year and referred to as mid 20xx models.
It is also rumored that a new 12-inch model will be released later in the year but further information is not available at this time.
As always, feel free to share your thoughts on the new Macbook Air down below.
