Mionix Naos 8200 Gaming Mouse Review
The Mionix NAOS line of mice has had a very successful history with the amazing Naos 5000 gaming mouse which boasted the ADNS-9500 sensor but now the all-new updated version has arrived and goes by the name of NAOS 8200. The new gaming mouse hosts the ADNS-9800 sensor although this unfortunately is not enough to separate this mouse apart from its competitors as these days, almost every high quality gaming mouse uses a sensor of the same spec but this is no problem for the Mionix NAOS 8200 Gaming Mouse as it has many other tricks up its sleeve.
The aesthetics and amazing ergonomics of the mouse have changed since the NAOS 5000 meaning the beautiful soft-touch finish is still present and the fantastic build quality.; The one thing which is not present in the new version is the adjustable weight system which may be a deal breaker for some but in my opinion, it is a step in the right direction for the mouse as it means that there are less moving parts leading to a much more solid feel to the mouse. Due to the rigidity of the mouse and the slightly larger than average size, it makes the mouse a perfect choice for users with large hands such as myself that prefer to palm-grip rather than claw-grip which are forced to do with many other mice. The cloth braided cable also adds to the overall high-quality theme of the mouse along with the gold plated USB cord for a longer lifetime.
The Mionix NAOS 8200 gaming mouse is also very pleasing to the eye with its sleek shape and attractive LEDs located on the Mionix logo, mouse-wheel and dpi buttons which can be programmed individually to any of 16.8 million colours using the fantastic software provided by Mionix which leads me on to my next point.
The Naos software is a dream to use with straight forward controls and beautiful illustrations to actively view the adjustments made to the mouse whether it be dpi settings, polling rate or lighting adjustments, the software will handle brilliantly. The LEDs can be programmed to a variety of different modes such as breathing, pulsating, colour shift and much more… This allows the mouse to fit in to any setup or personal taste whilst being practical and retaining exceptional performance.
One of the best and most revolutionary features included in the software in my opinion is the ability for the mouse to actively analyse the surface that you are using, grade it and automatically setup the mouse for the conditions that it is being used in saving a ton of time and providing you with the best performance that you can get out of the mouse.
The Mionix Mionix NAOS 8200 gaming mouse would make an excellent addition to the Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Gaming keyboard as an alternative to one of the Razer mice.
In conclusion, the Mionix NAOS 8200 is;
