PS4 Anniversary Edition – Limited Edition Celebrating 20 Years

Sony have announced a PS4 Anniversary Edition celebrating 20 years of the Playstation Consoles.

This PS4 20th Anniversary model will be a limited edition of only 12,300 units worldwide.
The Limited Edition PS4 Anniversary console will come in the original grey Playstation colours and include a special engraving on the outside.

12,300 units pays homage to the Playstation’s original December 3 1994 release date. Each one will be individually numbered with a special plaque showing players which of the 12,300 limited number they own.

This PS4 Anniversary edition will also come bundled with a 20th Anniversary DualShock 4 and Playstation camera in the same colours.

It goes on sale this weekend (6/7 December 2014) at the Playstation Experience Event in Las Vegas. It is also available for sale on the Japanese PS store but at the time of writing, we are still awaiting news for a European sale date.

As part of the announcement, Shuhei Yoshida, President of Worldwide Studios, paid homage to the original Playstation and Sony’s entry into the gaming market, saying:

The original PlayStation was meant to embody that sense of adventure and discovery, that sense that anything was possible.”[/quote_box]

Sony Europe have already stated this PS4 20th Anniversary Limited Edition will not be available through the normal retail channels and will have a sale price of €499. We will keep you updated once we hear when and where the PS4 Anniversary Edition will be available for purchase in Europe.
